Update 1.12 and a New Direction
In this blog I would like to once again highlight the version 1.12 with the available save system for the browser platform. The system is not stable yet, but its composition in the save file will remain the same from now on. Your save file will therefore remain compatible for future updates, as long as the file is still on your device, of course. Please note that some saved progress may be outdated and therefore not loaded. However, they remain in the file for possible access again.
Some of you may have wondered about the concept or the point of playing this game. Of course, I would like to clarify your uncertainties.
I wanted to design a game about exploring unknown places that are mysterious and untouched. The abyss is deep. It is dark and filled with uncertainty and danger. You dive down and wait for something unexpected. Maybe you will be surprised or maybe your path will lead you nowhere. No matter what comes, you have no expectation and move on.
The game should reflect that. You dig and dig on the ground and wait. You will find resources and build machines that will keep digging for you while you take a break (AFK). Then you can continue digging. How deep you dig you can see how many stones and resources you have collected, as well as machines you have built. The depth meter increases and you find yourself in new levels. Maybe something awaits you in the new updates. Meanwhile, you can keep digging or just wait.
Gameplay: The aim of this game is to be less active play and more idle. Passive gaming. The active playing is supposed to be limited to rock smashing to dig deeper into the abyss to explore new locations. The machines help players recover from mouse-clicking. Upgrading is just an extra feature to get faster. Still, some upgrades have maintenance time to allow the player to be more AFK.
Still, the game design doesn't give me the visual direction of my idea. So I have to revise the design in general. Here's a little sneak peek of the new game UI:
I'll show you that in the next update. This also includes text clarity, responsive resolution (also for mobile) and major gameplay overhaul. The concept remains. Also your saved progress.
That's all for now. Thank you for reading!
Also thanks to those who have supported and followed me so far.
Until next!
