Is there a problem with the idle process ? I upgraded my drill 25 with a half an hour time till completion, closed the game and came back two hours later and it hadn't moved from the time i closed the game. I thought idle meant it was supposed to continue when i wasn't even playing ?
Please fix the game to include a full screen option, I'm having to zoom out quite a bit on my laptop to play this game, and im having to strain my eyes to read the titles ingame.
Fun game but it could do with a bit more variation.
Are there any plans to increase the max level of things past 100? Getting through Hellgate is rather slow now that speed reduction is maxed. If just the workshop had a higher max level, it would be nice, though I imagine that you don't want to make it too easy for players to get to the end of the content.
@Dev - Some little errors in the game.
When you click on your Drills, Claws and Grinders in the background, they state whether they can collect ores. metals or both.
But when you scroll through them using the left or right button, the information about what they can collect stays the same as the first one you clicked on rather than changing.
Just a visual error, but an error all the same.
Also, I hit a wall.
When you go over 100,000 kt of rocks, you are put back to 98,000 kt, the number freezes for a moment, then continues back to 100,000 kt where it resets again.
With everything except maximum machines completed, I have no need for these rocks, but I was hoping to get to mt.
Edit: The wall isn't fixed. It's related to my passive rock income which I've maxed by having 105 drills. And I've found a bug/glitch/workaround to beat the wall. I keep buying the 200x Random Loots and the wall doesn't get reached.
Another sort of glitch is that if you buy random loot then your total shows as being above your max until you empty a drill, claw or grinder, or manually mine, then once you receive the corresponding metal, ore or metal, that number will reset to whatever your max is.
Lastly, I played in my browser all the way to Underworld and accidentally closed the window. The game doesn't save. Not doing all that again!
I have only played it like an hour but I already like it alot! I do wish you could resize the window on the installed window so it isn't that small. Also a mute button would be nice :)
Just came back to check if 1.13 was finally out, finally saw the 'mobile game' update. Sucks for me cuz I don't own a phone, but good for you and I hope you find success.
So you don't produce rocks after placing a machine? I tried it on a Mac and it works fine for me. Which browser did you use? Unfortunately, I'm working on releasing this game as an app. So I won't do patches for the browser for now. I'm sorry.
It's been more than 4 months since my last update. I just want to say that I'm still working on this project. But lately I've had to do part-time jobs to make a living. This slows down the progress of this project a bit. Still, I haven't given up yet. I ask for your understanding. Thanks.
Also, a huge thank to those who sponsored. That really motivates me a lot!
Thanks. Options will be available in the next update. At the moment it's just a prototype. I will consider making it playable on other platforms when it reaches alpha version.
So, out of boredom and sitting on a full inventory I decided to max out the machine upgrades and wanted to share my conclusions:
It's not worth it - I already suspected that. They do get a bit better, but never good enough to make up for the material invested. Especially since you need gold and Kimberlite and they don't give you that, so you'll have to actively mine anyway.
But I'm not disappointed with the drops, because upgrading was so prohibitively expensive that I was guaranteed to run out of any use for the loot once I was finished!
Yeah, I spent a ton upgrading the grinder and it seems like a complete waste. My rank 87 drill w/ Tip 10 is giving more stone profit than my Grinder 73 with Wheel 10 by a significant margin and it doesnt seem like the grinder will catch up, which is idiotic since the drill head is better than the grinder cog upgrade since it gives metal AND gem chances.
So, I'm also playing on firefox as a browser and I seem to have the opposite issue: sometimes the drill inventory gets stuck on empty and doesn't fill up anymore unless I click 'collect' on the empty drill. Kind of seems related, so there might be an issue there.
However, good news: unless you're desperately waiting for your first scraps of iron ore, active clicking seems to vastly outperform the machine collecting and the machines are only useful for increasing the passive stone mining in the current version. That's why I fill all slots with drills, because they seem to boost passive mining more than the other types. Once you got the stone rolling from passive and active mining, trading ores for stone and basalt also seem to be solid options. Much better than the machines at least.
Okay, since this jam is about improving, I'll not tell you about the current state of the game, only how to improve it:
Smaller screen, doesn't fit on my laptop
Less numbers and less things in general - stone, depths, some gems, some warehouses etc. I would like it more if there were less things, but those things were more interesting
More places to click. Right now it's only stone at the left and stone collected in my machine
Font is too small and hard to read
More interesting short-term goals, to add more interest to play - what am I playing for? I personally played to see those cool bulldoser animations from the game page. I haven't seen them
So there's actually a person playing on an even smaller screen than me! I think your issues with the game window size and the small font are related to that. Having a laptop myself (though with this game the size is alright for me) I can only suggest you try F11 to fullscreen the browser, if you don't already. Removing the header and task bar from view increases the size a lot because they improve the more limiting vertical size.
For the 'not enough going on': yes, I'm feeling the same, especially with all of those gems feeling unrewarding, because there's nothing to do with them. But I think the game is just not finished on these things. It also looks as if there's room for more buildings to the right side.
super fun game, hard to stop, unfortunately at this time no save function, starting at surface every time is unnecessarily grindy, I see below you are going to put in a save system, will be much appreciated
The art is so good. I like it a lot. It's a fun little game! Just wish I could tab out of it without it blacking out… I don't have windows so I can't download it either. Are you planning on implementing a save system soon?
The black screen error will be fixed before this weekend. I will implement a save system in the second milestone, but the core concept is not fully finished yet.

This page offers a full screen button. Now it is activated..
Thanks! :)
Love the game! Great job haha
Thank You :D

Adding a Mute or volume controls would be a plus.
Game looks fine even though I'm on Mac and can only play it on browser but I'm annoyed that an auto clicker doesn't work on the game...

I will update my progress here later this month.
Hey. My drill has stopped producing. It was producing for a while and since I unlocked the handpick ore %, it just stopped.
Great prototype for sure! Looking forward to seeing where it goes.
Thanks! Also for the report. I'll check that and solve it in the next update.
mhm to true
prolly the only thing i'd like to see added is an actual button for your inventory. nobody ever thinks of the mobile browser players ;-;
hmm not a bad game but give us some options so whe can shut off the music plz
and perhaps put this game on steam maybe for fre

I deleted my post due to realizing I WAS getting my iron from the machines; I just had to click collect twice every now and then.

Great points!
Here in the comments section you will find all current bugs and those that have been fixed and are waiting for the next upload.
are we supposed to obtain the items when they're collected with the debugging tool?
I can't do any upgrades because nothing is going in my collection
Yes, because of the bug, they can be obtained through the debugging tool.
I would suggest you to use the random looting from the warehouse to get the materials.
I will fix that and upload a new update for this jam: https://itch.io/jam/improve-my-game-jam-23
The Depth can be saved again :) Happy diving!
Dismantle in Workshop works again!
super fun game, hard to stop, unfortunately at this time no save function, starting at surface every time is unnecessarily grindy, I see below you are going to put in a save system, will be much appreciated
Thank you! Actually the save system will be my next priority :D I think that needs to be done sooner.

Ah, okay! I look forward to it!
Bug is fixed. No black screen anymore :)
Yay!! :D
I'm getting a windows defender warning on Idle Miner 1.11, saying it has a trojan virus. Not in 1.10
Thanks for the report. Maybe that caused the bug.
Browser game is playable again :)
I think you used > instead of >= for the price calculations because you can't buy something if you have the amount it costs.
I've never encountered this problem as far as I know. But I think I've already fixed it for the upcoming update.
an auto collect for the machines materias would be great
Yes, that will also be implemented.
Really good and cute clicker, I really want to see how it's going to evolve.
Thank you :D
ye i was pretty confused why the depths is even there
